Geriatric falls are very common and one of the leading major threats to death, vital body injuries and hospital admissions of elderly individuals.

1 out of every 3 people aged 65 years and older is at risk of falling, and if the individual is over 80 years old, this rate is 50% per year. It is shown that, two-thirds of every fallen individual will most likely to fall again within the next 6 months, where these falls are considered highly fatal.

Our company designed and developed:

• Smart wearable belt like device which its purpose is to protect the vital body areas, prevent injuries (broken hip, brain trauma, spine fractures, injuries and following syndromes and diseases), minimize the life-threat situation caused by fall.

• It detects the fall instantly with a time of 25 milliseconds to inflate bag cushions in every direction, giving the feel to the elder as if falling on a pillow and reduce the first impact damage.

This smart body protection device will promote active, healthy ageing and avoid dependence of elder. Thus, improving the life quality without a disruptive health deteriorating incident.

The system is currently under development with on-going tests to make sure its safety. Following the user tests, it will be ready to be presented as a commercial device.
